Topic: What would make PyraBang MORE fun?

Hey everyone! - I think what our major benefit to folks is - is that we provide unfiltered information from perhaps 2000+ different sources. All individuals that feel their information was important enough to post on our network.

REPEAT visits therefore is what it's all about. A one time fly by is not enough for people to understand they are in fact in a DIFFERENT place then they have ever been used to... in perhaps their lifetimes.

If we have more FUN things to do - it would encourage repeat visits and therefore more exposure to our MISSION of making the media actually BY "we the people".

My current plans are to add to the welcome page in the following manner.
1) Create a "My Shout" where members will be able to come to your page ((both trial (as you will set that pref) and Gold) - this will encourage more community and networking within the membership.

2) Create a "My Blog" <- for lack of a better thing to call it
Yes - members will very VERY soon be able to set up their welcome page as a non-logged in blog that they can send referrals to. Complete with it's own set of welcome page preferences that the user can set (including contact info they want available to all)

So... what other things would make pyrabang more fun and useful to more people?

Also I have heard the suggestion (please take credit if it was yours) about a "Gold Member directory" - I think this is a great idea and plan to implement as soon as possible.

Freeing our membership up to help us further our mission is our #1 priority - Patronizing only other Gold Member's businesses as much as possible is a logical step in that mission.

All gold member's contact info would start out as "unavailable to non-logged in" by default.

Let's also add something like a "Featured Gold Member Business" section (something unintrusive) to the welcome page - which would spur people to add their businesses to the directory like crazy...

That is a great idea. Maybe a "classifieds" section too.

I would have more fun if I were able to choose the categories independently for the pyrawords html ads. I build and manage several websites and each have specific topics. The pyrawords html would be great for each of the pages if I could pick the topics of interest and have only those show on my individual webpages.

As I understand currently, the pyrabang html banner provides the general topics that we (check) from the list of categories provided. ? These are the categories that we individually are interested in and the ones that show on our viewable Welcome Page.

Am not a programmer so no clue on how much work that would be. Just a thought!

**This is a test to see if hyperlinks show up on the message board.

I'd like to - when the site is done being remodeled... add a "spades ladder" to pyrabang. Card games are a great way to get people together and talking. This would be obviously right on line with our mission.

We want people to talk to each other and network. A spades ladder for anyone who knows about it... would get people together on a daily basis... and your pyrawords could be advertised on every page ;-)

We are also adding both blogs, and member shouts to the welcome page. - Similar to myspace you will have a version of your welcome page that you choose to show other people... and members will be able to browse other gold member's sites at will.

Your member shout could be set to different prefs but default would be that all Gold Members (if someone has something to lose they will adhere to our TOS) could talk in your shout.

I like these ideas NEO and I'll be looking forward to them.

I'm not a programmer either but I've found some great software
that helps me a lot with this and joomla is a great way to
build a community page with blogs, chat, etc...

I have one up already and I'm learning how to use it for articles
and blogs.

Just need more users and it will be awesome.

Also I was wondering. Can we have our own blogs fed into the system with out own rss feed button from our own blogs and forums? If we could have a
blank to add our own rss feed urls it would really be awesome.
