Topic: Do you support anonymous paper ballots for reps and senators?

Here's my plan to defeat the New World Order.

1) Join PyraBang (Of course) because our mission is to convert advertiser supported media into a media which ALLOWS advertising. (Yes there is a benefit) We simply want the person talking to be the person in control!

Anyway on to my plan:

We get the good Dr. Ron Paul or anyone else for that matter to sponsor a bill to make all representatives vote via secret ballot non recorded. I'm not sure if we need an amendment (prob do). Need to look at my constitution...

The New World Order would be over since they don't know which rep voted for what and all of our reps can in the privacy of the ballot box vote their conscience - and if you don't trust them then you should have either not voted for them or voted against them!

Consider:
The reps ignore the people anyway in large part. Their votes are recorded and posted yet it doesn't prevent them from voting in a way that makes the most money.

So occasionally sure a vote could be bought because we don't know what our reps have voted but like I said ... that doesn't stop anyone!

and if they wanna be bad guys - let them steal the LOBBYISTS money instead because the lobbyist would never be able to verify a vote making lobbying essentially go out of business as an industry!

Please always remember what should have been ours and don't ever give up the fight!

Need to visit with you on this. Seems to me that even with a secret ballet they are going to vote in a way that pads their pocket so not totally sure it would accomplish what you hope for. Could be wrong of course. Maybe I am not following you completely. Need to get in your head more on this. Seems the ramifications are pretty diverse.

They pad their pockets now Jim in full public view. Everyone knows what they voted and that doesn't stop them from taking the money.

All I'm saying is if you make their vote unable to be counted on by an INVESTOR in that vote then the investors will simply go away.

I think your idea sucks. It is tough enough for a newbie in the legislature to resist influence by lobbyists and special interest groups. You are inviting them to make it easier to be a criminal and all the while not making anyone accountable. If you get someone to write this bill, I WILL oppose it!

I welcome your opposition Dan thanks for your input. Can you tell me how this does more damage specifically to our situation than we are presently in? Also I point out - the intention of this bill is to REMOVE pressure from outside forces not increase it.

Special interest groups want to make money. It's just business. They have a reliable product right now. A vote. They know it's guaranteed. They bought it. If we suddenly take the X factor (the ability for a lobbyist to rely on a vote) out of the equation the equation will fall apart.

Okay folks looks like a constitutional amendment:

Section 7 - Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, [ [and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively.] ] If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law.

Every Order, Resolution, or Vote to which the Concurrence of the Senate and House of Representatives may be necessary (except on a question of Adjournment) shall be presented to the President of the United States; and before the Same shall take Effect, shall be approved by him, or being disapproved by him, shall be repassed by two thirds of the Senate and House of Representatives, according to the Rules and Limitations prescribed in the Case of a Bill.

You cannot, will not, do not "REMOVE pressure" by removing visibility and/or accountability. You have to make it easier for constituents know what their representatives are up to. Then you have to have a way for them to contact them and let them know their views. Once they see their views are being ignored, do you think they will vote for them again?

Having a constitutional amendment to provide secrecy is certifiable. Please stick to what you know ---- get people to use PyraBang the way you intended, helping to get people aware of the issues. Once they are aware of the issues, they will seek what I outlined above.

Want examples?

Issue: immigration (both excessive legal and illegal)

How do I find out what's going on? - hmmm, that dandan guy keeps posting stuff and talking about PyraBang. Let me check it out.

What are reps doing? - www.numbersusa.com Hey! - he posted that, too!

How do we contact the reps to complain? - or thank (just as important) - www.numbersusa.com has a personalized online fax system to use.

My rep is finally listening, what now? - thank them.

My rep isn't listening, now what? - Keep on them with followup letters and calls. Follow them around next year on the campaign trail and organize or join a rally outside of the places with signs and/or handouts to inform the people who are going inside.

Want real examples?

www.numbersusa.com along with other like groups have beat down amnesty bills numerous times in the past decade that I have been with them.

H.R.1207 - Maryland had only one cosigner of Ron Paul's bill. I kept pressure on the representatives from mine and other districts and solicited the help of others to do the same - especially in the districts where I was not allowed to contact them. RESULT - my rep, the toughest nut to crack, along with a few others caved in to the pressure and co-signed. BTW, the first thing I did was to go thank the one Maryland rep (Bartlett) who had already cosigned.

I WILL NOT WAVER FROM MY STAND THAT SECRECY IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO!!!

It is bad enough that they sneak stuff into other bills, but more and more people are reading what their reps are not and calling them on it. One example is ObamaCare Part 1 hidden in the stimulus bill. See the following post by me:

Part 1 of ObamaCare Already Passed (post id #39446)
Congress pulled a fast one on us. It is the second part of The Health Care Plan which is now being debated in Congress.
http://www.pyrabang.com/view.php?ref=DanDan&post_id=39446

WE NEED TRANSPARENCY!!! You know - that thing that Obama promised and has not delivered on once. He did make it transparent that the Auto CEO's had their own planes, but failed to let us know the cost he has incurred with all his (including family) trips. And let's not forget the wasteful spending for the Air Force One photo-op in NYC that he didn't know about (yeah right).

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. You do not have my vote!

I'd rather recommend the public elections to be made personal, that is, if X people have voted for Representative A, we should be able to know the name of every one of those people and be able to contact them.

Surely people will be afraid of this initiative at first, but that's the best way to go if you want to eliminate fraud in politics. Every single person should be personally involved and personally responsible. Otherwise - it's just another pond of black water where the NWO would be able to steal your rights secretly.

Fear is not the way of freedom.

Maybe you should change your effort to enact a bill that any representative caught taking any bribe from a lobbyist is removed from office and the lobbyist is thrown in jail? The rep should also serve time for treason. After all, he swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution, which means he must look out for the interests of his constituents. Can't serve the people and the lobbyist at the same time.

They won't pass it dandan. I'm talking about something we could do that will pull the rug out from under a lobbyists who is only bribing or extorting a politician because the vote can be verified.

Well, it yours passes, just say good night to the rest of the constitution, because they can vote on every unconstitutional law and you won't even know it.

Just answer one question - If you want them to vote by ballot, how is any constituent to hold them accountable for that vote???

Answer one more question - if these ballots are to be counted, who is to count them and don't you think you are making it even easier for them to manipulate the vote? Hell, they obviously already manipulate OUR ballot votes! All you will do is make it cheaper for the lobbyist. Now they need to bribe fewer people!

Actually this not a bad idea.

Case in point. I was on a jury one time and the jury foreman had taken a visible hand count vote on a decision. It was in favor of the plantiff.

Then I asked for a secret ballet vote to be taken. Guess what, the decision went to the defendent.

It was a beautiful thing!

In a society of fear and paranoia this may be an appropriate direction until things are rectified.

Perhaps both methods of voting should be introduced.
