Q. What is PyraBang?
A. PyraBang is a system that utilizes the laws of supply and demand to circulate your information in a free market environment. The goal of Pyrabang is to have information circulate based on MERIT only. We are building the first ever "information economy!"
When you post on our network you invest real money called "bangs" in your post. These bangs aquire allocation (ALC) which gets your post shown to thousands of visitors on hundreds of websites in our network! The ALC of your post can change depending on what other members do with it. ALC is like the "gas in the tank" of your post while it "drives around" the PyraWords Network.
Q. What is "critical mass" in PyraBang?
A. Critical mass in PyraBang will be when the amount of money earned on a good post is larger than the monthly membership. We estimate that point to be somewhere in the 10,000 - 20,000 Gold Member range. At that point we believe the floodgates will open and this opportunity will be a large snowball rolling down a steep hill! In fact just making a dollar or two would be pretty impressive wouldn't it? Oh wait you can do that right now! The media revolution has already begun!
Q. What's the first thing I should do?
A. If you're serious about either journalism, making money or both you must have full access to PyraBang as a Gold Member. After that your first post should knock it out of the park! You can post a funny video, ground breaking news story or anything entertaining you think people will tell others about. You'll be amazed the first time you make a few dollars just for posting a link to something on the internet!
So go ahead and get started now, for less than 6 dollars you'll at least have some fun and meet a really great group of people!
Q. What is a bang?
A. The "bang" is Pyrabang's base form of currency. One bang = $0.001 (1/10¢). Bangs on PyraBang can be purchased or cashed in for real money! There is no conversion charge and all bangs are backed by US currency. (Good old fashioned FED notes!)
Q. Do I need a website?
A. PyraBang is not just a place to advertise your website. PyraBang is union of members networking information over hundreds of websites, to thousands more of their visitors! You're upgrade to Gold Member gets you access to this network! If trying to get hits on just one website you'll miss the point on how we make a substantial income building the PyraBang system and the PyraWords Network. You earn income based on the interest of other members in your posts and as we grow this income will only continue to increase. One good post will show's you PyraBang's true potential, and explains why others will join for a burger-cheap price!
Q. How does an "earn-per-click" system work?
A. You earn (not pay) money on clicks of your news, entertainment, music or advertising. Pay-per-click systems are wrought with fraud since webmasters benefit from clicks on their websites, fradulent or otherwise. Some webmasters make good money in their pay-per-click internet groups! With earn-per-click there is no incentive for webmasters who have nothing to gain unless there is a unique click representing a potential referral.
Q. Why should I follow an "80/20 rule" when I post?
A. Our members use the PyraWords Network to spread the information they want others to know about and to gain new referrals from your posts that are clicked on. Entertaining or newsworthy posts make far more bangs because they are more in demand. This is your network! Try to follow the 80/20 rule when you post! A good TV show has about 80% entertainment or news and only 20% commercials. We're creating a network where you eventually won't need to advertise to pay the bills!
Q. Can I cash in my posts for real money?
A. Gold Members on PyraBang actually make money just by spreading information! This is the main point of our system. We want independent journalists to have a reliable source of income for their efforts other than the Main Stream Media! You pay a 10% commission when you cash in your post and can turn those bangs into cash or post something else on the network and do it all over!
Q. What kind of support is available if I need help?
A. There are several admins who can be private messaged at any time. We also have a chat room where members discuss PyraBang and how it works. There are forums which can be browsed to learn more as well. Last but not least we have a shout box on the welcome page if you're ever having a problem. Gold Members also get telephone support as an added benefit.
Q. Can I try PyraBang for free?
A. Trial Members (free members) do have some limited abilities to get on the network however they are dependent on Gold Members to either invest in their posts or to lend them trial bangs (optional benefit for Gold sponsors). Since PyraBang is an economic system, it's difficult to participate as a free member. Pyrabang's currency - "Bangs" - are real money.
Trying to do PyraBang for free is a bit like going to a poker game with no money!
Q. How does the jump program work?
A. If you're still a trial member you're a sitting duck. If someone in your group goes Gold, they will without notice become your upline! You then lose all future bonuses, commissions and downline production from that new Gold Member. If the member was your sponsee you will receive a one time $3.00 bonus.
If previously upgraded, your account can remain downgraded for up to 40 days (enough to miss two payments with ten days notice) before you can be jumped by a member in your group. Your renew date is found on your welcome page on which date if possible you will jump. The jump program is meant to motivate your downline to stay upgraded but also give them plenty of time to correct a problem if they have been downgraded by accident.
For surefire extra protection make sure your bux account always has more than $5.95 as a backup.
Q. What do i get when I join PyraBang?

Q. What's the difference between "trial" and "Gold" members?
A. trial members can post on PyraBang's main site or they can get ALC with the help of a Gold Member. Trial members make $3.00 each time a member they signed up goes Gold. They make a 10% bang profit off of every investment in their posts. Trial members make money for nothing, but at a pretty high price!
As Gold Members you control the bangs in our system. You'll make a $12.00 bonus ($4 per month for the first three months) when someone you sponsored goes Gold. After the bonus period, you receive $0.90 monthly on each sponsee who remains Gold. You also make $0.40 monthly commissions after the bonus period on anyone else in your group who is a Gold Member. Gold Members make a 20% commission on investments in their posts and can access up to $20.00 in extra bangs (20,000) per month.
Q. Can I earn enough money as a trial member to go Gold?
A. Since Gold Members jump trial members as soon as they go gold, trial members will never see a growth in residual income, only one time $3.00 bonuses. So being a Gold Member protects your future income as well as your present. Waiting to upgrade could come back to haunt you - especially if a Gold Member who was formerly in your group winds up on the top sponsor list!
Q. How do I become a Gold Member?
A. Gold Membership is $5.95 per month. We currently accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and Paypal. We use Authorize.Net and also PayPal.Com as our payment gateways. Q. You charged me twice, what do I do?
A. You probably haven't been charged twice. PyraBang gives you 34 days on your first month in order to get you ahead of your subscription payments. When your payment comes in we make a notation in your pre-paid dues account so you know ahead of time if there may be some problem. You can also check up on us from your accounting statement in order to confirm specific transactions.
Q. I paid my monthly fee, why haven't received my bangs yet?
A. On your welcome page you will see your "renew date." It's when your monthly membership dues are collected. In that same area is your "Pre-Paid Dues." This is where your subscription payments are deposited and held until they are collected to cover your monthly membership.
For your piece of mind, we give you 34 days on your first month in order to get you ahead of your subscription payments. This way you can see that your payment is indeed in well before your renew date. That renew date is when your membership is renewed and your bang allowance is then put into your Bangs account.
Remember you can always purchase bangs from your bangs conversion page.
Q. Can my membership dues be taken from any account?
A. Your onsite money is in 4 separate accounts: Bux, Bangs, Posts and Pre-Paid dues. The first account that is checked on your renew date is your Pre-Paid dues. If that account is insufficient your Bux account will be checked. Lastly your Bangs will be converted to cover dues if possible. You must physically cash in your posts (from your media portfolio) in order to utilize their bangs.
Q. So what's the catch?
A. The catch is you must be tollerant of what others want to post. Obviously we must have general standards to avoid complete mayhem as with any system. Adult material, profanity, racist remarks or lack of tollerance of any kind will not be tollerated! Members of our network must abide by our terms of service.
Q. What is your spam policy?
A. We have designated categories for posting information and members who have choosen in their preferences to not receive information in some of those categories. Spam posts and posts in wrong categories are deleted by admins without warning and could result in a suspension or termination of your account. This policy also applies to anything listed in our terms of service.

Q. How do I post?

Q. What is a "framebuster"?
A. We display your post in an iframe on our view page because we do not "steal" a website's content and store it on our servers. These framebuster-enabled websites use a special program written in javascript to render our system in-operable as our members can no longer scrap, forward, invest and so on. The preview feature is meant to purposely have the framebuster takeover if indeed there is one - which will not allow you to post it.
UPDATE: As of 6/7/09 we have updated our framebuster prevention system. If you see any framebusters on our network that were more than likely posted before this date please contact an admin to have them deleted.
Q. How do I edit my posts?
A. From your media center, you will see an button underneath the description on your post. This will bring you back to the post form where you can edit the heading, description, category and everything but the primary domain in the url. We do in fact encourage editing. Becoming a "wordsmith" is one of the nice side effects of PyraBang!
Q. Can I put my bookmarks on PyraBang?
A. Yes this has always been one of our main objectives. You've bookmarked links on the internet because you thought they had value. Now you can cash them in!
Q. What is my media center for?
A. Your media center is where you keep all of the items you've posted, but have not cashed in or deleted yet. You should use an 80/20 rule when you post information on our network.
Q. What is a hold percent?
A. Gold Members can select a hold percent of up to 33% to protect their posts from getting bought up leaving you with a small percentage. 33% still gives others the incentive to take over majority interest so their commissions can make you even more bangs! If you have bangs in your bang account, they will be automatically invested to cover up to your "hold percent" on that post when someone else invests.
You must have more than 400 bangs in your account to take advantage of this feature. If you do not have enough bangs then the maximum amount you can afford (from your bang account) is what is invested and the hold percent is ignored.
The 400 bang base limit is set to protect you from losing referrals via the PyraWords Network by preventing your bang account from being emptied to zero.
Q. Now that I've posted information how does anyone else see it?
A. The search engine is available at the top of any PyraBang page. Your information will be shown on the welcome page instantly as a recent post. It can also make the front page if it gets into the top viewed posts. All of these ways are bonus impressions. They do not count against your allocation. We have a network of hundreds of websites that use our "Pyrawords" and many of our members use "PyraMail." Our network has shown over 508,833,593 impressions of our member's information since Independence day of 2008!
Q. What's the difference between an "investor" and an "originator"?
A. An investor is someone who clicks "invest" on a post and buys a certain share of that post because he/she believes it will get a large amount of circulation and therefore make money. The investor has no control over the post except for the amount of bangs that is invested.
An originator is someone who posts information on PyraBang or has re-posted information. This member has the right to edit the post at their discression.
Q. Is there a limit on posting for trial members?
A. Trial members are able to post up to 4 posts every two hours. They are not able to get their posts on the network without help from a Gold Member either through getting loaned some trial bangs or by another member investing in their post. If a gold investor comes in, that post will gain ALC from the Gold investment and it will then begin circulating on the PyraWords Network.
Q. Can I make bangs as a trial member?
A. You can. If a Gold Member invests in one of your posts, you make a 10% bang profit. This profit can then buy you a small share of what you posted. If you upgrade to Gold you do not have to depend on other Gold Members because then you can invest in your own posts.
Q. What's the difference between impressions (IMP) and allocation (ALC)?
A. Allocation is like gas in the tank for your posts. ALC is basically "future impressions." As long as you have allocation remaining, your post is on the job out on our PyraWords Network collecting bangs for you! Depending on what members do with your post your ALC can increase or decrease without further investment by you!
Impressions are the number of actual times your post has been displayed somewhere on the PyraWords Network.
Q. Why is there a monthly limit on bang purchases?
A. We try to keep a level playing field and protect mom and pop from the multinational corporation! Gold Members are able to purchase a maximum of 20,000 extra bangs per month ($20.00).
Q. I just paid 10 bangs to post something but you only took two, why?
A. When you post on PyraBang you are given something in return - real money! We invest 80% of the bangs you pay into the your new post. That post can then increase in value as it circulates through the network at no extra cost! When other members invest in your post you receive 20% of their investment!
Q. Won't someone get upset if people are making money off of their website?
A. The best way to answer this question is with a couple of questions. If you have a website, isn't it because you want people to visit it? Would you be mad if someone made $1,000 by driving one million hits to your website?
Q. Isn't posting a link to copyrighted material copyright infringement?
A. No. Copyright infringement is when you copy their material and, for example, put that material on your own website. Posting a link to someone's copyrighted material is simply advertising that someone is making their copyrighted material accessible to the public.
Q. Why can't I change my primary domain?
A. Some posts will build up a massive amount of ALC and go on almost indefinitely without every being re-posted. The primary domain restriction is to allow you to make a correction to your url, but deter you from changing, for example, to a product you're selling that would never build up that allocation on it's own. In that case you would need to make a completely new post and have it build allocation on it's own merits.
Q. Why do I have to re-post my posts?
A. When your post runs out of ALC, you will see a link in your media center. You can choose to invest more in that posts circulation or cash it in. A good rule of thumb is unless you're selling a product you would probably be better off investing those bangs in a different post! However if our membership doesn't like your product maybe you should sell something else? Posts about legitimate worthwhile products, on the other hand, can last quite a long time on our network with no re-investment.

Q. What can PyraWords do for me?
A. Do you have trouble getting referrals? Pyrawords is a snippet of html code that contains the same posts you submit to our network! If someone clicks on the PyraWords you've embedded, they are clicking on your referral link! If the click is unique (checked by a variety of methods on our server) you will pay 1 bang for the referral which is added to the value of the post that was clicked on. You have 12,000 chances to break even! If someone you referred goes Gold you make $12 (total of three months bonus) not to mention residuals from that new Gold Member's activities!
Tell this to any business owner regarding expenses versus potential gain and he or she will think you are crazy!
It may sound a bit nutty, but our current ball park estimate is around 250-300 visits to our view page will get you a Gold Member signup. You've read that correctly, around 30 cents can bring you a $12 bonus! That ratio can only continue to get better as our name recognition takes hold. Beware however: If you do not have bangs in your bang account at the time of the click, the member who originated that post gets the referral instead! Q. What is PyraMail?
A. PyraMail works like PyraWords only the post is in your email footer. This puts the email footer that other companies profit on to work for you making income and spreading information. PyraMail is a Gold Member benefit. After upgrading you can set your account up here.
Q. What is the "rapid fire-pony express" factor?
A. Your post once circulating shows up somewhere on our network then gets "back in line" to be shown again. If someone clicks on your post however it goes to the "front of the line" and immediately get's shown again somewhere else. This creates a rapid fire process which ensures that a large majority of our membership and the visitors and recipients that they have contact with learn about this critical news or revolutionary new product!
Q. How can I advertise at a net profit?
A. Simple. Today if you post something on the network you'll get 1,010 impressions of your information for 10 bangs, which is 1 penny. Of that 10 bangs, you pay a 2 bang commission. The remaining 8 go into your media center value. You now have 1,010 chances to make back the 2 bang commission after that and you are making a profit!
Q. What if I don't have bangs in my account?
A. Even though you are hosting information in PyraWords and PyraMail, ultimately it is the information that causes the click. If you are not willing to pay another member 1 bang (1/10¢) for getting you a referral then that new signup goes to the originator of the post along with any commissions or bonuses which may come as a result.
Q. Can I get signups just by posting information?
A. Yes you can! The more entertaining and useful your media center is the more likely you will be the beneficiary of a bonus referral if the person hosting your post can't pay you a bang!
Q. Will bangs be converted to cash automatically and vice-versa?
A. No and this is for your protection. This way you can keep a limited amount of bangs in your account if you choose. The only exception to this rule is when your membership is due.
Q. Can I trade in my bangs for real money?
A. Absolutely, bangs are real money and you can convert them to cash. You have a dollar balance and a bang balance. You can transfer bangs back and fourth.
Q. Can I control what goes in my PyraWords?
A. Gold Members can adjust their PyraWords to use just their preferences or even just what's in their media center. The drawback to this is variety. The more variety you have the more clicks and referrals you are likely to get.

Q. Do I get paid on trial members in my group?
A. Unfortunately no. In order to do so we would need to sell premium real estate on our site to corporate advertisers who would eventually want influence over Pyrabang's direction and goals. This is a mom and pop company but mom and pop first have to come up with $5.95 between them to get started!
Q. How does the trial member bang lending program work?
A. On your preferences page you can set the total bangs to lend to your sponsees. You can see the total loans you have out on your group page which will eventually paid back to you under "trial sponsee loans."
To to protect your PyraWords referrals there is a safety valve of 400 bangs:
If your bang lending is set to 40 bangs and you have 427 bangs no loan will happen.
PyraBang charges a 10% commission for this service, rounded up. For 55 bangs your commission will be 5.6 which is 6 bangs. That means your sponsee will only get 49. (55-6) So if you want your sponsee to get 50 bangs total then your bang lending must be set at 56.
You will be paid back one of three different ways.
1) When your sponsee upgrades to Gold you will receive and instant refund.
2) When you sponsees are deleted for 6 months of inactivity your loan will be returned.
3) If you sponsee is making bangs on the network, once their bang account is worth twice you loaned you will be paid back automatically the next time they cash something in.
How is this different than a pay forward?
By lending bangs you are encouraging members to use and understand PyraBang before upgrading to gold! A little bit of PyraEducation goes a long way! Lending bangs in some cases could be cheaper and create longer term members than someone you paid forward who does not understand Pyrabang's potential.
Q. What are the rules of the Top Sponsor banner contest?
A. The sponsor who signs up the most Gold Members in a week will control the banner space on top of Pyrabang's entire website! This website is currently averaging 20,000 - 30,000 hits per week!
RULES:
Pay It Forwards do not count!
You and your sponsees must be Gold Members.
Top Sponsor cannot be concurrent (you can win every other week though).
If the Top Sponsor does not submit a banner, the old banner will continue to fly until a new one is submitted.
Your banner will be raised one week following your Top Sponsor win.

Q. What's the difference between a referral and a sponsee?
A. A referral is someone who has been referred by you and visited PyraBang but has not signed up. A sponsee is someone who has joined PyraBang in your sponsorship group that you personally referred to PyraBang.
Q. Can I use PyraBang posts to refer people?
A. Yes! It's actually one of the best ways because you're sort of showing them how PyraBang works while referring them at the same time! If logged in, click on a post on the welcome page or after searching for one in the search engine. Then you can copy the link out of the view page, it looks similar to this:

You will notice that the name after "ref" is actually your username, you MUST USE LINKS WITH "REF" or "GO" IN THEM or our new POWERLINKS in order to get credit for the referral. When someone clicks on this link and goes to view the content they will become your referral at PyraBang, and if they sign up, your sponsee and if they go Gold you'll a $0.00 bonus plus monthly commissions for as long as they remain members!
Q. Can I use your logos and trademarks in my marketing materials?
A. Absolutely, we even don't mind if you modify colors and styles as well but the basic structure of the logo and text must remain intact, and when displayed outside of PyraBang you must include the federal registered trademark: ®
Q. Can trial members sponsor people?
A. Yes! You receive a $3.00 bonus when someone you sponsor goes Gold. However once they do they will jump you so it's debatable this is actually saving money.
Q. How do I talk to someone I know about PyraBang?
A. It depends on the person. We must stress that the money making potential of PyraBang does not exist without a valuable service. The membership dues actually do pay for something tangible. Starting out any discussion with "You can get paid to..." is almost surely going to bomb out! This page is a great way to introduce people to PyraBang. Q. How do I send someone directly to a certain page, and still have them as my referral?
A. If you look at the link in the address bar of whatever page you want to send your referrals too, you can paste the suffix of your referral link onto the end of that page's address. For example: If you want to send your referrals here, you would combine (http://www.pyrabang.com/faq.php) and then add on the suffix ( ?ref=JaneDoe) if your nickname is JaneDoe. The result would be:

The one drawback to doing this is that if the suffix is wrong, you will be dependent on your referrals checking the name in the signup box to make sure you are their sponsor. Simply click on your link to test for yourself. If not this could be why.
Q. How much do I get paid?
A. As a trial member, you make a $3.00 bonus for signing up new Gold Members or when a trial member you signed up goes Gold. You can also make 10% off of every investment in your PyraBang posts but do not specifically own a share.
As a Gold Member, you make a $12.00 bonus from new Gold Members at the rate of $4.00 per month for three months. You'll also receive $0.40 monthly commissions on anyone in your group who's been Gold for more than 3 months. You'll make 10% bang commissions on all of your posts and you can invest in other member's posts. You can also participate in the upcoming "I feel lucky" lotteries where you can split the bang pot with PyraBang if you happen to land on something you posted. Q. How do I receive my commissions and bonuses?
A. On the first of every month, as long as your membership dues are paid, your bonuses and/or commissions will be deposited into your on-site balance. Gold Members MUST be Gold on the 1st of the month in order to receive their commissions. You can then withdraw your funds using PayPal or for an extra fee we are considering a paper check option.
Q. Can I move or can members in my group be moved?
A. Spillover is an integral part in keeping our Member's groups active and involved. To get an extra cha-ching without doing something yourself is quite the pick me up! We maximize spillover in PyraBang by not allowing grid compression.
Okay... so what is grid compression?
Grid compression happens when a member is deleted from the grid. The best producing member below him would then have to fill that spot. If this new occupant was simply moved into that spot he would lose his 10th level, because his 1st level would become his 2nd (making his 10th his 11th)! As this is unfair, the only other way to make that fair would be to combine that new occupants first level with the first level of his upline, creating multiple spots his front line and therefore drastically reducing spillover!
To prevent grid compression, we can no longer physically move members. If you have not gone Gold simply create a new account under the correct sponsor. trial members are deleted automatically after 6 month of inactivity. Since we now have a confirm sponsor box on the signup form in and a message IN BOLD on the upgrade page that tells you who will get the bonus when you go Gold, if you still signed up under the wrong sponsor then, well we just don't know what else we can do for you!
Q. Do I have to pay my own taxes?
A. If you are required under the law, you must fill out a 1099 once you have made more than $600 in a calendar year with PyraBang. A 1099 is a tax form the IRS requires individuals and companies to send out who make payments to independent representatives. As an independent representative of PyraBang.Com you are responsible to pay your own taxes. PyraBang will not withhold taxes.

Q. Does it cost bangs to forward posts?
A. You've already paid the bang once you are on the view page. It does not cost any bangs to forward a post. We mainly just want to see if you like it enough to press "forward" which will increase that posts allocation (ALC).
Q. How do I become an investor?
A. Two ways:
1) You become an investor when you originally post your information and invest bangs in it.
2) When you invest in someone else's post. When you do you get a share of the future profits! Just click the "invest" button from the view page if you see something that makes you laugh, makes you mad (because it's bad news but important none-the-less) or you just think it will get lots of time on the network with very little re-investment - that's a great post to invest in!
Q. What is the "top post" button for?
A. Top Post is a great way of giving the originator a bump without making a large investment. When you click the "Top Post" button, 3 things happen:
1) The orignator gets one extra vote for the Top Poster board on the welcome page!
2) You tip the post
one extra bang.
3) You double the ALC the post gets as when you would forward it.
Q. Is there a way I can search through everything that's been posted?
A. This is one of the best things about PyraBang. You have complete access to information real people thought was valuable! You can search by category or post id, or just what's in your media center. We also have a great new feature in the pull down that automatically gives you the most recent posts in each category!
Q. What's the difference between "views" and "bangs"?
A. Views are the number of times a unique visitor has seen a post. Bangs are added to a post when a Gold Member views a post from another Gold Member's media center (which has ALC above zero) or a PyraWords Network user is exchanging bangs for referral page views.
Q. What happens when I scrap or report?
A. You remove allocation or "future views" from it's circulation. Scrapping is like a slap on the wrist when posts are in the wrong categories, have bad grammar or maybe "stretch the truth". Reporting is a bit more severe and has serious consequences for both the person reporting (you better be sure) and the person who's post was reported on. In either case if you report or scrap posts on a habitual basis we reserve the right to suspend, terminate accounts or take that privilege away.
Q. Is the information posted checked for accuracy?
A. We are not the judge of what others should see, hear and read. You be the judge okay?
Q. Why do some posts that I view have more buttons than others?
A. These are free posts. Posts that no longer have any investors but remain in the search engine are free posts. trial member posts are free until there is an investor. Posts that you have already viewed you are not charged for again.
Q. How are the ratings on the posts calculated?
A. Members have the option to forward, tip, invest, do nothing, scrap or report on a post when they view it. The ratings for these actions are +1, +2, +3, -1, -2 and -3 respectively. The positive ratings and negative ratings are added up individually and a percentage is created, the post's rating.
